Poison Spell

What is Dark Spell?

From the Dark Spell Factory, you can create powerful spells that can be used when attacking enemy villages.

Do we need to use spell in the battle?

You don’t have to use spell in the battle. But at the expense of some Dark Elixir, you can use these powerful Dark Spells to turn the tide of battle in your favor! Practice and you shall master!

So what is the first Dark Spell we can try?

When you finish building Dark Spell Factory, you gain access to the first Dark Spell of the game: Poison Spell.

Nothing takes down enemy troops better than this deadly poison!

Give your army the upper hand against enemy troop with this deadly poison!
Defending units that linger in a Poison Spell’s toxic cloud will move slower, attack slower and take damage with increasing severity over time. Poison Spells do not effect structures.

Attack Tactics for Poison Spell

1) Kill small Clan Castle Troops
Poison spell level 1 can kill small troops such as Archer, Wizard, Witch, and Minion.
Simply lure all of them out, drop the Poison spell and wait until they all die. Although, this tactic takes times to kill them compared to Lightning spell, it’s cheaper because Poison spell use only one spell housing space instead of two from Lightning spell.

2) Weaken large Troops and Heroes
Poison spell is also efficient against large Troops such as Dragon, P.E.K.K.A and Heroes. While it deal small amount of damage to them, Poison spell decrease enemy moving and attacking speed. This is good tactic to allow your troop to take them down.

Defense Tactics against Poison Spell

1) Mix type of Troops in Clan Castle
Having various troops such as Archer, Wizard mix with P.E.K.K.A will help neglect half of Poison spell effect. Your enemy have to choose either killing small troops or engage large troops while in effect of Poison spell.

2) Separate Heroes and Clan Castle
Another choice is try to avoid situation that your Heroes and Clan Castle Troops are in the same position and together receive the effect of Poison spell.

Dark Spell Factory

What is Dark Spell Factory?

Spell Factory is the support building to enhance your attack. You can spend Dark Elixir to create Dark Spells which can be used against defense troops, buildings or support your army.

Only the most brilliant or reckless Master Wizards dabble in Dark Elixir brewery. Their compact Dark Spells require keen insight to master, but provide unique tactical advantages.

Dark Spell Factory becomes available to be built at Town Hall level 8, and can be upgraded at each Town Hall level onward. Dark Spell Factory adds one spell storage capacity to the total spell storage capacity.

Town Hall level 8 = Dark Spell Factory level 1 = Allow to create Poison Spell
Town Hall level 9 = Dark Spell Factory level 2 = Allow to create Earthquake Spell
Town Hall level 10 = Dark Spell Factory level 3 = Allow to create Haste Spell

At least, you get 1 extra spell space, 1 poison spell often becomes handy to deal with enemy Clan Castle Troops or Heroes.

How important I should prioritize to build and upgrade Dark Spell Factory?

Dark Spells take up only one space in spell storage compared to Elixir Spells take up two spaces. This make Dark Spell somehow cheaper to use and give you more flexibility to which spells you can carry to the battle.

Trophy player should focus on upgrading Dark Spell Factory because it allows you to store more spell and give you access to new Dark Spell.

Dark Spell Factory has very low hit point compared to other buildings. Just place them outside Wall.

Here are the complete release notes:
New Update
War Tiebreaker
  • Spell Superiority and a Clan War Tiebreaker!
  • Improved Lightning, Poison, Earthquake and Freeze spells!
  • Lightning Spell level 7 and 25 new Wall pieces have been added to Town Hall level 10.
  • Total Destruction is now a Clan Wars tiebreaker – if the score is even at the end of the war, the Clan with more destruction percentage in their best attacks will be the victor!
  • Attack and Defense tabs have be added to Clan tabs in the War Stats to quickly see all best attacks in the war for either clan.
  • The appearance of Wall level 11 has been revamped and looks TOTALLY EPIC! Goodbye electric blue!

Reworked Poison Spell

  • Troops in Poison Spells now take less damage at first, but much more over time
  • Poison Spell damage now increases to huge amounts and lingers after leaving the spell
  • Poison Spells now also reduce the attack rate of defending Troops

Reworked Earthquake Spell

  • Earthquake Spells deal much more damage, regardless of a building's current hitpoints
  • Repeated Earthquake Spells now deal diminishing damage to the same buildings
  • Four Earthquake Spells will still always destroy any level of Wall!
  • There are no longer any special "building execution rules" for Earthquake spells - a building just needs to be reduced to 0 HP
  • Example: If an Earthquake Spell has 25% damage, the first Earthquake spell cast on a building will ALWAYS deal 25% of maximum HP damage, thus destroying any building with under 25% HP remaining. Repeated Earthquake Spells on the same building deal less damage: 25/3 %, 25/5 %. 25/7 %, etc. This diminishing damage means that it is still impossible to destroy buildings only using Earthquake Spells.

Economy balancing

✔ Dark Elixir Drill maximum capacity has been increased on all levels

Combat balancing
✔ Archer Towers now shoot twice as fast to better take down weak hordes (total damage remains unchanged)
✔ Inferno Towers now shoot for a longer time before getting depleted (loading cost remains the same)
✔ Army camps have heavily decreased hitpoints - no more stubborn campfires!
✔ Cannons, Barracks, Laboratory, Spell Factory and Dark Elixir Drills have higher HP on almost all levels
✔ Hitpoint values have been adjusted slightly for many other buildings
✔ Lava Pup HP has been slightly decreased

Yay!!! It's time for the Sneak Peek.
You will be SHOCKED! because...

Heroes Changes!!
Our Heroes remain at your service, Chief! But this time, with stronger abilities, readjusted strengths and smarter defending. The King and Queen are now much smarter on defense, have distinct strengths and weaknesses, and their abilities are more important than ever.

1. Heroes can no longer be lured out to some corner of the village and get smashed there. Now, they will become like a defensive building (they're still not defenses, they will not be targeted as such) and will only attack troops that step inside their territory; if a troop tries to lure them out of that territory, they will retreat.

2. Hit points and damage for the Queen and hit points for the King have been slightly increased at lower levels. However, hero hit points and damage have been decreased at higher levels in order to balance heroes on defense and allow for stronger abilities.

3. Hero Abilities now improve much more significantly with each new ability level so the best way to make your hero stronger when attacking is to increase their ability level!

Barbarian King
  • His damage has been reduced, but he now can heal himself greatly when using the Iron Fist ability (the health points being increased upon the activation of his ability). 
  • The Barbarian horde summoned by Iron Fist has doubled in size to cause even more mayhem.
  • Use Iron Fist at the right time to help the King take more damage than he ever could before
Archer Queen
  • Her hit points have been reduced in later levels, but the Queen now gains a tremendous damage boost while her Royal Cloak ability is active.
  • The duration of Royal Cloak has been greatly increased in lower levels to help make sure the Queen has enough time to land her most powerful of shots.
  • Use Royal Cloak at the right time to help the Queen hit important targets harder than she ever could before!
P.E.K.K.A level 5 is here!
Chief, take shelter! P.E.K.K.A level 5 is here to wreak havoc and those swords have never been sharper!

Jump Spell more effective!
New Jump Spell level 3 has been brewed! Regardless of the level, this Spell will now affect ALL troops deployed, even those outside its radius. Plus, it will now cause troops to redirect themselves immediately if it opens up a more advantageous rout close by, no more wandering about.

Spell duration = 60 seconds

Cast Jump Spell near enemy walls to create a route straight over them. Basically, units will ignore the walls as if nothing is there.

She felt underachieved so we gave her some more training and a new skill was born.
Reintroducing the Valkyrie, with her mighty axe she will now attack multiple targets that are placed close to each other.

January 2014 Update: Hero Abilities

Clash of Clans: January 2014 Updates V5.172 Hero Abilities

All Hail new Hero Abilities!
  • Both Heroes have acquired special abilities that can be activated once per battle, after they have been deployed.
  • Iron Fist: Barbarian King and nearby Barbarians become enraged for a short time, moving faster and dealing more damage (does not stack with Rage spell).
  • Royal Cloak: Archer Queen hides from and becomes invisible to all enemy defenses for a short time.
  • When activates Hero abilities, Hero will instantly call in a group of Barbarians or Archers to reinforce their King or Queen.
  • Hero abilities unlock for free at Hero level 5 and improve in strength every additional 5 Hero levels.

New Clan Features: Co-Leader
Divide and Rule! Help relieve some workload and stress from Clan Leader. Running clan will never be the same. No more clan falling apart due to absent Clan Leader.
  • Clan Co-leaders can now be appointed by the Clan Leader or other Co-leaders, unlimited amount of Co-leaders up to your style.
  • Clan Co-leaders have all the privileges of Clan Leaders, except for the ability to demote or kick other Co-leaders.
  • Clan Elders are now less powerful to prevent abuse, no longer able to promote or demote and only be able to kick normal members.
  • Notes that great power comes with great responsibility, try not to spam too much promotion.

Interface improvements
  • Get your Heroes back into battle faster by boosting their recovery 4x while sleeping.
  • Boost cost and duration of Barracks and Spell Factory now reduced from 4 hours 20 gems to 2 hours 10 gems.
  • New plant growth is being found with more gems inside than ever before! Rumor said that it gives you up to 6 gems, WOW! Hurry up and go back to mow your lawn.
  • Chat is now available even when away from your village, such as when visiting and watching replays
  • Army Camps, Spell Factory and Clan Castle now display used capacity next to their name when they are selected.
  • Friend List has been moved to the Leaderboard menu on the last tab, replacing the Clan Search tab (Clan Search is still available from the Clan Castle menu).
  • Rage Spell info now correctly indicates damage percentage increase (e.g. 30% instead of 130%).
  • Obstacles can now be cleared in edit mode.

  • Nothing can beat these pesky flying creatures, Level 6 Minions! Are you the one who watching them attack enemy base? Or crying when they decimate your base?
  • Level 5 Freeze spell leaves defenses on ice for longer than ever before.
  • Decreased upgrade cost and time of Freeze spell level 3 and 4.
  • Decreased Rage spell level 5 damage bonus from 80% to 70%.
  • Increased Hog Rider training cost by about 30% on all levels (Hog lv5 cost 65 instead of 50 DE).
  • Increased Valkyrie hitpoints by about 20% on all levels.
  • Increased P.E.K.K.A. level 3 hitpoints from 3400 to 3500 and level 4 from 3800 to 4000.

Hero Ability: Royal Cloak!
The Archer Queen hides from and becomes invisible to all enemy defenses for a short time. All hail the sneaky Queen!
Royal Cloak
  • Activate Royal Cloak ability, by tapping the Archer Queen's icon again after deploying her.
  • Archer Queen becomes invisible and untargetable temporarily; any defenses attacking her will stop and find new targets. Note that she can still set off traps when invisible.
  • Group of  fierce Archers are called to reinforce their Queen immediately.
  • Archer Queen level 5 gain this ability and improves in strength every additional 5 Hero levels.

The Barbarian King and all nearby Barbarians become enraged for a short time, moving faster and dealing more damage. RWAAAAAR!!

Gem Box is a mysterious New obstacle packed with Gems! Leprechaun not included.
Note that one Gem Box can spawn at a time, so don't hesitate to collect it.

Giant Bomb

What is Giant Bomb?
Giant Bomb is the bigger and deadlier version of Bomb. It is a bit expensive to use but the damage and damage radius are really worth the cost. With November 2013 updates, you can upgrade your Giant Bomb for more damage output and bigger damage radius.

When you’re looking for a Big Boom, you need the Giant Bomb.

Similar to Bomb, Giant Bomb stays hidden until enemy walk close to it. When enemy reach Giant Bomb’s trigger radius, it appears and shortly explode itself dealing huge amount of damage in an area around itself.

Giant Bomb is great to use for the battle between high level Town Halls, it can instantly kill any small troops including Wizard. It also helps reduce some hit points of Giant group which makes your defense buildings to kill them off faster.

Defense Tactics for Giant Bomb

1) Outside you base
Place Giant Bomb outside you Wall help kill some incoming attacker before they can reach your base. The risk is that it will be useless to trigger by lone Barbarian or Archer that just walking pass.

2) Behind first layer of Wall
When attacker breakthrough the Wall, the troop will be funneled together. One big boom is generally good enough to weaken attacker’s army.

3) Key location
Place near Town Hall if you care about trophy. Place near Storage if you want to wipe out horde of Goblin. Sometimes, place Giant Bomb near key defense building like Inferno Tower or X-Bow is also good to protect them from getting swarmed by tier 1 troops.
